The Democrats derive a great deal of pleasure from calling Republicans in general, and the President specifically, liars at every possible opportunity. Trying to make it seem as if the Republican Party uses the same tactics as they do is really quite absurd, since nothing can compare to the whoppers told by Democrats on a daily basis. We are all familiar with the most recent outrageous lies by both Democrat presidential candidates. But, there is a long list of examples showcasing the Democrats inability to tell the truth that goes as far back as you care to look. Lies that most of us have forgotten about or that those among who support the loony left, read Democrats, would like to forget. They even lie about stupid things, things that nobody in their right mind would ever waste their time lying about in the first place! Here are a few reminders:
I think I’ll start with my personal favorite lie.
Lie: Bush lied about Iraq having weapons of mass destruction.
Actually everyone thought Iraq had WMDs, even Bill Clinton as well as any number of other Democrats. As did the intelligence agencies of every major industrialized country on the planet. If someone acts guilty, like Saddam, I thinks it's reasonable to assume he is. Can you imagine had we not gone into Iraq and Saddam had either attacked us directly or handed off a weapon to terrorists how the Democrats would have crucified Bush? It would have been, " Mr. President, how could you not have seen this coming?"
Lie: Bush stole the 2000 election.
Actually, it was Gore that contested the results in Florida, and Gore that placed the fate of the election into the courts. Bush had won the Florida vote count. Gore was just a sore loser.
Lie: Bush tax cuts were only for the rich.
Actually, everyone who pays taxes got a tax cut. Democrats would rather have no tax cuts at all rather than have one that helps the rich. But, with the rich paying 90 percent of the taxes, it’s more than a little difficult to cut taxes for the rest of us without the rich getting a cut too. So, using the Democrat premise that would mean none of us would ever get a tax cut.
Lie: Global Warming, caused by greenhouse gas emissions, will melt the ice caps and cause massive global flooding.
Actually, in the 400 years we’ve been measuring the global temperature, the temperature has gone up a whopping .75 of one degree. Only the melting of land-based ice could add to the volume of water in the oceans. The majority of land-based ice is in Antarctica where the temperature averages 60 degrees below zero. So, just how much warming would be required to get all that ice to melt? You do the math! But, personally, I’d be willing to bet it would need to be more than .75 of one degree.
Lie: Bush is just to dumb to be President.
Actually, Bush has an Undergraduate and Masters Degree from Yale. He is only the second President in our history to have accomplished that. Most of the morons out there calling him dumb barely made it out of high school.
Lie: Bush wants to abolish Social Security.
Actually, this was just another in a long list of many lies designed to scare seniors. All Bush wanted to do was to make Social Security more efficient by allowing people some control over the money that was deducted from their pay. The Democrats came up with this lie because they didn’t want the payroll taxes currently go into the general fund used, at least partially, for discretionary spending. But there’s another reason the Democrats were lying about this. It’s because if you contribute $300 a month to Social Security, you may get back $1800 a month. Now, the S&P 500 has returned more than 10% over its lifetime. Therefore, if the same $300 was invested over 40 years you come up with $2 million which means you could withdraw almost $200,000 or 10% a year and never exhaust your money. Now you tell me, which is the better deal. Then tell me Bush was trying to abolish Social Security. Do that and I’ll call you a liar.
Lie: The only reason Bush went to war with Iraq was to get their oil and to line his own pockets.
Actually, this one is too stupid to even respond to.
Here’s a couple of noteworthy Katrina lies:
Lie: It’s Bush’s fault because Governor Blanco (D) asked for help and Bush did nothing.
Actually, Bush declared a state of emergency on August 27, Blanco asked for help on August 28. And in her request she made no mention of troops, helicopters, food, etc., despite what she and her staff said later.
Lie: Bush caused the flooding by cutting levee funding.
Actually, local officials diverted Federal funding for levee improvement for years. And one other often ignored little fact, Bush’s funding was higher than that of that other Clinton.
There are lots more but I think you get the idea. The Bush haters like to blame Bush for their incompetence. They’re the ones that are too stupid to be in public office, not Bush.
While the lies coming from both our stellar Democrat Presidential candidates Clinton and Obama are too numerous to count, I thought I would remind you all of a few of them and just for fun throw in a few from Slick Willie:
Obama Lie: I did not take money from oil companies.
Actually, that’s true. But it’s true that no candidate does, because it’s illegal for corporations to give money to politicians. However, he does take money from oil company executives and other employee. And as of Feb 29 of this year he had received nearly $214,000 from oil and gas industry employee and their families.
Obama Lie: I am stronger on foreign affairs.
Actually, except for Africa and the Middle East he’s never been anywhere on the planet that would provide any kind of experience.
Obama Lie: I was a Professor of Law.
Actually, not really, he was a Senior Lecturer
Obama Lie: I’ve have always been against the Iraq war.
Actually, he wasn’t even in office at the time of the vote and has voted to fund it every single time.
Obama Lie: I am tough on terrorism.
Actually, he missed the Iran resolution vote on terrorism, and his good friend Ali Abunimah advocates the destruction of Israel.
Obama Lie: I have been a bold leader in Illinois.
Actually, even his own supporters claim to never have seen any of this bold action that he likes to talk about with such enthusiasm.
Obama Lie: My wife didn’t mean what she said about pride in her country.
Actually, what his wife said would be pretty true to form for someone who closely follows the philosophy of someone like Rev Wright, a man who has high praise for Louis Farrakhan. Men who celebrate their contempt and hatred for their country.
Obama Lie: I am as patriotic as anybody.
Actually, he refuses to wear a flag pin or to put his hand over his heart during the national anthem.
Obama Lie: My church is just like any other.
Actually, his church is so extreme, the pastor who married him and his wife blamed the US for 9/11 and named Louis Farrakhan as its person of the year.
Obama Lie: I disagree with my country all the time.
Actually, he still has not clearly stated his position on the garbage spewed by this "pastor". He still donates substantial sums of money to assist the church in furthering its message of racial hatred and bigotry. As late as 2006 he donated $22,500 to the church. That doesn’t sound like much of a disagreement to me.
Hillary Lie: "I remember landing under sniper fire," she said lately. "There was supposed to be some kind of greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base."
Actually, just didn’t happen
Bill Lie for Hillary: "You know, I got tickled the other day. A lot of the way this whole campaign has been covered has amused me. But there was a lot of fulminating because Hillary, one time late at night when she was exhausted, misstated — and immediately apologized for it — what happened to her in Bosnia in 1995 [sic]. Did y'all see all that? Oh, they blew it up.
"Let me just tell you. The president of Bosnia and General Wesley Clark – who was there making peace where we'd lost three peacekeepers, who had to ride on a dangerous mountain road because it was too dangerous to go the regular, safe way – both defended her because they pointed out that when her plane landed in Bosnia, she had to go up to the bulletproof part of the plane, in the front. Everybody else had to put their flak jackets underneath the seat in case they got shot at. And everywhere they went, they were covered by Apache helicopters. So they just abbreviated the arrival ceremony.
"Now I say that because, what really has mattered is that even then she was interested in our troops. And I think she was the first first lady since Eleanor Roosevelt to go into a combat zone. And you woulda thought, you know, that she'd robbed a bank the way they carried on about this. And some of them, when they're 60, they'll forget something when they're tired at 11 at night, too."
Hillary Lie: Here’s an oldie but a goodie. Hillary once claimed, while First Lady, that she was named after Sir Edmond Hillary.
Actually, I guess she must have spent the first six years of her life nameless just waiting for Sir Edmond to climb Everest.
Hillary Lie: On her web-site she like to brag that her record includes working to pass the Family and Medical Leave Act.
Actually, it was signed into law by her husband on February 5, 1993 about 2 weeks after he became President.
Hillary Lie: (Regarding NAFTA) "I spoke out against it starting in 1992, the president made a different decision," Clinton said. "I think now with 14 years of experience under our belt, we can see that in some parts of our country there have been, perhaps, some economic advantages, but in other parts of our country, like where we are right here in northwest Indiana, it hasn’t worked as it was promised.
Clinton also said, "I have been a critic of NAFTA from the very beginning."
Actually, on November 1, 1996, UPI reported that on a trip to Brownsville, Texas, Mrs. Clinton "touted the president’s support for the North American Free Trade Agreement, saying it would reap widespread benefits in the region." The AP followed up that next day reporting Mrs. Clinton was touting the fact that "the president would continue to support growth in South Texas through initiatives such as the NAFTA Agreement."
Brief Summary of Hillary’s whoppers:
Chelsea was jogging around the Trade Center on 9/11
She didn’t know about the FALN pardons
She learned how to make killing in the futures market from reading the Wall Street Journal
Didn’t realize her staff would really fire the Travel Office employees
Some of Hillary’s factoids:
The first First Lady to come under criminal investigation
The first First Lady to almost be indicted according to one Special Prosecutor
Number of fundraisers convicted, or pleading no contest to crime:5
Number of times Hillary, providing testimony to Congress, said she didn’t remember, don’t know, or something similar: 250
Bill Lie: (Again, starting out with my personal favorite) "I want to say one thing to the American people,. I want you to listen to me. I’m going to say this again. I did not have sexual relations with the woman, Miss Lewinsky. I never told anybody to lie, not a single time – never. These allegations are false."
Actually, those allegations were not false.
Bill Lie: "I’ve said I’ve never broken the drug laws of my country, and that’s the truth."
Actually, …. Come on, really?
Bill Lie: "I have vivid and painful memories of black churches being burned in my own state when I was a child."
Actually, ahh no one else could remember such burnings taking place.
I have focused primarily on just the Democrat candidates, but the problem of purposeful lying and deceit on the part of Democrats goes much deeper. It is pervasive as well as a systemic problem in a political party that shows absolutely no interest in correcting it. You see, telling the truth just doesn’t seem all that important to Democrats because, more often than not, telling the truth just doesn’t really fit in with the completion of their very liberal agenda. They lie to minorities, they lie to seniors, they lie to everybody. It’s like they can’t help themselves, it’s ingrained in their DNA. I’m not sure when they lie it’s because they’ve told the same lies so often that they’ve come to actually believe what they’re saying is the truth or, what I believe is the case, they simply don’t care if what they’re saying is true or not. If Democrats really want to see what expert liars look like they need go no further than the nearest reflective surface and take a good long look at what they see.
