It would appear that that pillar of the Black Community, that defender of black civil rights everywhere has managed to get himself once more on the front pages of the newspapers and headlining the nightly news. And how you may ask? This publicity seeking, ego driven supposed "leader" for civil rights is threatening to shut down the Big Apple because the three cops accused in the killing of Sean Bell have been acquitted. Never mind that two of them were also black.
Look, we’re all familiar with this loser’s history and how anyone can use the word "leader" in the same sentence as his name is beyond me. And how he was ever allowed to be a presidential candidate, as he once was, is even more bizarre. He has been given and continues to be given way to much recognition from those who really should know better. He’s allowed to say pretty much anything he wants without substantiating anything. By anybody’s definition he’s a nut.

April 2006 interview with Bill O'Reilly discussing the three Duke players then accused of rape, Sharpton said (among other things):
This case parallels Abner Louima, who was raped and sodomized in a bathroom like this girl has alleged she was. That's the case and just like the Louima case, you have people saying she fabricated it. They said he fabricated it -- two guys in jail right now for that.
The best service he can perform today for both his people and his country is to simply go quietly into the night. He is really serving no useful purpose and to a certain degree is harming those he says he wants to help the most.
