WE'RE GONNA END UP LOSING THIS THING IF .........

Cartoons By Michael Ramirez
If McCain doesn’t come out swinging, and soon, on who it is that is really at fault for creating this whole financial train wreck that we "suddenly" find ourselves in, he is going to see any chance he may have at winning the Presidency go up in smoke. He is going to need to forcefully come out and place blame exactly where it belongs, squarely with the Democrats, because it is they, not the Republicans, that created it. The Democrat rhetoric that all this is somehow George Bush’s fault makes me want to puke. And unless McCain gets out there are starts pointing fingers and naming the true culprits a large portion of our ignorant electorate is going to buy the Democrats story which is constantly being reinforced by our totally "unbiased" media.  After all, he has never been shy when it come to criticizing his fellow Republicans.  And now what, we’re all just expected to blindly buy into that same Democrat rhetoric about how it’s only they who are being patriotic and are capable enough to save the country and to put them in charge of fixing it. I think NOT! Hey, they want us to trust them to fix the mess that they themselves created with our tax money. And what is their solution exactly, why it’s for the government to simply absorb a major part of the economy using tax dollars to do it? They also want more and more regulations, and it is the current over regulation that allowed this "crisis" to happen in the first place. What we need to have is less involvement by the Democrats and their idea of government, much less! After all, despite what Nancy Pelosi says, IT WAS NOT right wing policies that got us here.

What the American people don’t seem to understand and what McCain, and Palin as well, must make crystal clear to them is that it’s the Democrats’ whose fingerprints are all over this thing going all the way back to that screw up Jimmy Carter. It was on his watch back in 1977 that a wonderful little piece of legislation called the Community Reinvestment Act was brought into being. Under this little jewel of a piece of legislation, in order to create "affordable housing", lending institutions were pretty much forced by our government to make loans to people who were very likely not going to ever be in the position of being able to repay those loans. These people received loans even though they were not credit worthy, could provide no verification of income or assets and with little consideration given to their ability to make payments and they also needed to provide no down payment. At one point the Chief Executive of Countrywide Financial the nation’s largest mortgage lender (you’ve heard of them they gave sweetheart deals to the likes of guys named Dodd and Obama) is said to have bragged that in order to approve minority applications, "lenders have had to stretch the rules a bit." Oh really?

Then in 1993 along came Slick Willy who ordered new regulations for the CRA which would increase access to mortgage credit for even more people who possessed an even higher degree of risk at ever being able to repay their loans. They received these loans simply because they lived in the inner city or in distressed rural communities. These new rules that went into effect on January 31, 1995 featured: requiring strictly numerical assessments for lending institutions in order to get a satisfactory CPA rating, using federal home-loan data broken down by neighborhood, income group, and race; encouraging community groups to complain when banks were not loaning enough to a specified neighborhood, income group or race. With these new rules occurring at a time when many banks were merging and needed to pass the CRA review process to do so, there was a substantial increase in the number of loans to low and moderate income borrowers for home loans, many of which were deemed "risky mortgages." Many banks set up their own CRA departments and as a result a CRA consultant industry was created and new financial-service firms helped banks invest in packaging portfolios of CRA loans to ensure the banks were in compliance. The list of highly questionable organizations that were on the receiving end of substantial sums of taxpayer dollars boggles the mind. Does ACORN sound familiar to anyone? You know the group Obama worked for as a "community organizer."  It has received over $760 million dollars as a direct result of the Community Reivnestment Act.  How's that make you feel?

In 2002 there was an interagency review of the effectiveness of the 1995 changes to the Community Reinvestment Act and some new proposals were considered. In 2003 it was the Bush Administration who recommended that a new Department of the Treasury agency supervise the primary agents guaranteeing sub-prime loans, those agents being Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. However, Congressional support for the idea was pretty much split along party lines and the proposal failed. Democrats have been saying for years that everything was fine regarding these institutions and that there was no need for concern. Guys with names like Dodd, Frank, Obama and other Democrats were and are up to their scrawny necks and fully knowledgeable of the corrupt financial practices going on at both of these lending institutions. It is now time for McCain to take the gloves off.  I simply do not understand his reluctance to name the names highlighting all of the Democrats involved and how some of the biggest culprits are now working on the Obama campaign. He must make it abundantly clear that his opponent in this election was a major player acting as nothing more than a willing enabler to those that created this financial mess. Either that or he’s dead in the water right NOW!

WILL WE ACTUALLY ELECT OBAMA??

Cartoons By Michael Ramirez
Are we really, and I mean REALLY, on the verge of electing the most Pro-Abortion, Most Pro-Gay Marriage, Most Pro-Tax Increase, Least Free-Market and the Least Pro-Military President in our history come this November? What we have in Obama is not only the most Liberal member of the U.S. Senate, but a man who believes in and has the deepest of convictions for as well as the desire to inflict Socialism in its absolute purest form upon our country. We as freedom loving Americans must realize that the way to a prosperous future with a thriving economy is not through some idealized form of government sponsored collectivism. Socialism, no matter where it has been tried has stifled human ingenuity and has failed to produce anything but abject misery and poverty. What makes the supporters of Obama think his version of this unworkable system will provide us with anything other than those very same results? History is filled with failed attempts at Socialism, as well as the corpses of those forced to exist under its weight, with examples very easy to find for anyone willing to take the time to go looking.

Democracy in this country is hanging buy a lone, slim thread with Obama and the Liberal Democrats looking for any way possible to give it that one final nudge sending it over the cliff. They’re hoping that this latest financial fiasco, one of their own making I might add, can be used in just such a way to accomplish that final goal. They would like nothing better than to be the ones to drive that final nail into the coffin of free market capitalism. Because it is only then that they would be free to usher in an age of what they see as a government sponsored utopia, but what the rest of us see as nothing more than an age of government ownership of our very lives. It’s sad really that so many in this country are so willing, almost eager, to hand over to the government their ability to decide for themselves how it is they will live out their lives. Like sheep being lead to slaughter, they are totally oblivious to what’s waiting not only for them but for the rest of us who do see what’s coming but are too few in number to prevent.

Just how is it that we have come to be at this particular place at this particular time? Is it that all that indoctrination that kicks in during the earliest years of our education, where were told that only through the beneficence of our government can we expect to be truly happy and able to lead successful and productive lives, finally coming to fruition? How about the political correctness that has come to run rampant throughout society, another tool created by the political left, that is designed to stifle free speech by twisting the true meaning of words into something that is unacceptable or even called "hate speech". All designed to prevent people from speaking up out of fear of being labeled as a nonconformist or worse as a gay-basher or even worse yet a "racist". Liberals have shown time and time again their willingness to use any means necessary to squelch any and all forms of dissent. And they seem to be succeeding. They have plenty of allies in the media who are more than willing to help in any way possible to make sure the liberal socialist agenda is advanced. A media that ceased being at outlet for responsible journalism a long time ago, and now has become nothing more than an advocate for a repressive form of government.

My friends there are potentially some very dark days for this country that await us in the not too distant future if this man Obama does in fact become our next President. His ideas regarding the role government should be permitted to play in each of our lives should be enough to frighten even his most ardent supporters. It definitely frightens me!

This is why the bailout is a bad deal!!

Rescuing ACORN

By INVESTOR'S BUSINESS DAILY | Posted Friday, September 26, 2008 4:20 PM PT

Election '08: Democrats want to use profits from the bailout as a slush fund for liberal activist groups, even those involved in vote fraud to help elect Barack Obama.

Read More: Election 2008

Prior financial bailouts, or "rescues," such as those involving savings and loan failures, and Chrysler, have over time actually made money for the government. It may be the case here as well, as assets bought by the government at bargain prices return to marketable values and are auctioned off.

One of the sticking points in resolving the crisis was a poison pill in the Dodd/Paulson compromise that would move 20% of profits from the bailout into the Housing Trust Fund, a slush fund for political action groups such as ACORN (the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) and the National Council of La Raza.

Sen. Lindsey Graham told Greta Van Susteren of Fox News that Democrats had other priorities than just solving this crisis: "And this deal that's on the table now is not a very good deal. Twenty percent of the money that should go to retire debt that will be created to solve this problem winds up in a housing organization called ACORN that is an absolute ill-run enterprise, and I can't believe we would take money away from debt retirement to put it in a housing program that doesn't work."

Groups such as ACORN and La Raza lobby to secure government-funded services for their members and seek to move them to the voting booth. The housing bill President Bush signed in July contained a similar funding mechanism for the HTF — a tax on mortgages backed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

The tax was designed to channel upwards of $600 million annually in grants for developing and restoring housing, mostly as low-income rentals, available to ACORN and other groups. ACORN gets 40% of its revenues from the American taxpayers and not all of it finds its way into housing.

A new whistle-blower report from the Consumer Rights League claims that ACORN routinely commingles funds from its housing arm into political projects such as voter registration and get-out-the-vote drives. Money is fungible. Any taxpayer money that ACORN gets for housing makes it easier for the group to put its other funds into voter drives.

"These are taxpayer funds, in an indirect method, being used to subsidize political activism," says Rep. Jeb Hensarling, a Texas Republican and chairman of the conservative House Republican Study Committee. "I'm sure they're not going out and registering any Republicans."

Obama cut his community organizer teeth with ACORN. As a young lawyer he represented the group in a suit against the state of Illinois, which was concerned that postcard registration and a new motor voter law might invite fraud. ACORN later invited Obama to train its staff in leadership seminars.

ACORN has a political arm that endorsed Barack Obama for president in February and has stepped up its registration efforts to help elect a future benefactor. The Obama campaign admits to failing to report $800,000 in campaign payments to ACORN. They were disguised as payments to a front group called "Citizen Services Inc." for "advance work."

Consumer Rights League official Jim Terry says: "ACORN has a long and sordid history of employing convoluted Enron-style accounting to illegally use taxpayer funds for their own political gain. Now it looks like ACORN is using the same type of convoluted accounting scheme for Obama's political gain."

A major part of ACORN's sordid history is vote fraud. ACORN has been implicated in voter fraud and bogus registration schemes in Missouri, Ohio and at least 12 other states. Last July, ACORN settled the largest case of voter fraud in Washington state history, involving nearly 2,000 bogus voter forms. In Ohio in 2004, ACORN submitted forms for the likes of Mary Poppins, Dick Tracy and someone named Jive Turkey.

ACORN uses taxpayer money to elect people like Barack Obama who will work to get them more taxpayer money. Democrats are willing to rip off taxpayers in a national crisis to make it happen.

McCain 1, Obama 0

After what I thought was a somewhat shaky start for him, I think Senator McCain came on stronger and kept Senator Obama on the defensive the majority of the night. I think McCain had a much better command of the facts and presented them with a confidence and understanding that was lacking in many of Obama’s comments and responses. While I don’t there was a knock out blow delivered from either side, I do think this debate accentuated the strengths of McCain and revealed the weaknesses of Obama. From the discussions of the Russian invasion of Georgia to the one on the war in Iraq, I think McCain came across as more knowledgeable and prepared to deal with such issues as President. McCain was more knowledgeable, more to the point and keener on the attack, than Obama. I think McCain was successful to a certain degree in showing Obama as someone who wants to increase taxes so that he can also increase spending. Also the point about comparing corporate tax rates between this country and Ireland talking about how that effects increasing job creation was also a good point made by McCain. Corporate taxes are too high in this country and does keep many corporations from locating here which in turn effects job creation. All Obama could say over and over again was McCain wanted to reduce taxes for the rich and how he, Obama, wanted to raise taxes on the rich and to reduce taxes for 95 percent of Americans. The point I wish McCain would have made is that when Obama lets the Bush tax cuts expire EVERYBODY is going to get a tax increase! Also I wish he had been a little more forceful about placing the blame for the current mortgage mess where it belongs, on the Democrats and maybe mentioned the names of a few of the key players in the creation of that mess who now work for Obama. But all in all I’m pleased with McCain’s performance. Anyone have any other thoughts?

I'm beginning to question the intelligence of the American electorate

Ya know, I’m really getting tired of continually hearing about just how bright the American electorate is. Because I’ll be honest with you, I’m just not seeing it. Now you may ask, what evidence do I have to back up this statement? First of all, most presidential polls. Now I know that most polls are always a bit skewed, but even if they are anywhere close to being accurate, that would be enough to substantiate my claim. Secondly, I listen to quite a bit of talk radio and the comments I hear from some of the callers tells me that there are more than just a few morons running loose out there.

I continually hear about how the voters are simply too smart to be fooled and will see through any of the shady schemes designed to fool them that are being perpetrated by the Democrats working in close association with their allies in the media. However, all I continue to see is a growing number of people who time after time allow themselves to be manipulated by those very same groups. Anyone who thinks otherwise is seriously deluding himself or herself because from everything I continue to see, the stupidity, or call it ignorance, constantly on display from our esteemed electorate is pretty much without limit.

Far too many people seem to be perfectly content with the status quo. They blissfully go through life as nothing more than uniformed morons waiting to be told what to do until one day, BANG, they wake up in the morning wondering how it is exactly that things got so screwed up. DUH! The very sad truth of the matter is that these morons among us end up having a very substantial impact on the lives of the rest of us. I remember during the run up to the 2006 election hearing from certain talk show personalities that the American voting public was not going to buy into the Democrat rhetoric of hate, hate and still more hate. Well, look at where we find ourselves today. Enough spineless morons did buy into it and whose to say these same mental midgets won’t again fall all the stupid rhetoric and outright lies being told about, oh say, the current Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae Democrat created fiasco?

In today’s technological world it is just not that difficult to get and to stay informed regarding what’s going on in the world around you. There are hundreds, maybe even thousands, of information web-sites that are not affiliated with either political party where you can go to gather information that is untainted and free of any bias or spin, right or left. And yet, how many people choose to do so? You would think that people would want to keep informed, otherwise how do you have any idea if the people for whom you are choosing to vote actually share your beliefs and support your values? Even more of a danger are those individuals who recognize the lies and distortions in the media and by the Democrats for what they are and yet, AND YET, they choose to ignore those little facts and vote for the liars anyway. What can possibly motivate someone to do that?

The fate of this country will rest with those who make a conscious effort to separate fact from fiction and are able to use that information to base their decision on whom they should vote for. To base your decision on anything else, or to simply ignore the truth, is both fool hardy and just plain stupid. Unfortunately, both categories are home to a great deal of Americans.

McCain leads, Obama follows

What follows comes from our friends at PowerLine.  I could not have said it any better.  McCain once again proves to be the leader that Obama only wishes he could be.  McCain doesn't need a teleprompter in the tough situations, all he has to do is to simply be himself.  Obama can't be himself because he doesn't know who he is.  He tries to become whatever is necessary to please whatever crowd it is he is standing in front of at the time.

The neat thing about a presidential race between two Senators is that voters can make direct comparisons between the candidates that otherwise are not possible. This year, the comparisons work in John McCain's favor.

McCain pushed for the "surge" in Iraq. Obama opposed it, saying it wouldn't work. When it worked, Obama said he knew it would work, but defended his vote anyway.

Two years ago, McCain warned that Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac were in serious need of reform and he so-sponsored legislation to reform it. Obama did not support this legislation, which the Democrats blocked. Obama was near the top of the list of recipients of contributions from Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac, and two executives from these outfits were among his campaign advisors.

McCain also had the right line on the Russian invasion of Georgia (though this was not a legislative issue). As Rudy Giuliani recounted at the Republican Convention, Obama waffled for a while and eventually adopted McCain's view. McCain led; Obama followed

Most recently, McCain figured out that he needed to get back to Washington to engage, and if possible provide leadership in, the momentous issue of the financial sector bailout. While McCain opted to help make something happen, Obama said he could be reached by phone if anything did happen.

Obama's position was untenable, so he eventually followed McCain back to Washington.

Hoping to cover for their "follower" of a presidential candidate, Democrats are claiming that McCain has done more harm than good in the legislative debate. Although this is always a possibility with McCain (and, indeed, just about anyone who is willing to lead), the Democrats' case is absurd.

Their argument is that Congress was on the verge of a deal until McCain entered the picture and caused Republican House members to block it. The problems with this script are several. First, there is no evidence that House Republicans were ever on board with any deal. Second, the support of House Republicans is not needed to pass bailout legislation. The Democrats control the House.

The Democrats counter the second point by saying that a majority of House Dems won't support a deal unless House Republicans provide "cover." But this argument raises more problems than it addresses. First, it is a serious condemnation of House Dems (too gutless to do what they think is right, even in the face of a potential economic meltdown). Second it is a serious condemnation of Nancy Pelosi (too ineffective to whip her troops into line even in the face of a potential economic meltdown). Third, it casts serious doubt on the wisdom of the deal that McCain is falsely accused of scuttling. If the deal made sense, House Dems wouldn't believe they need "cover" from House Republicans.

Fourth, the "cover" argument shows what a non-factor Obama is in all of this. The Dems complain (preposterously) that McCain has riled up House Republicans or failed to bring them around. Meanwhile, no one seems to be asking why Obama hasn't helped the House leadership obtain sufficient support from House Dems.

There's a reason why this question isn't being asked. Obama is lightweight from whom leadership is not, and should not, be expected.

IS HARRY REID SENILE OR WHAT?

The senility of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev) was once more on full display when he slammed President Bush for "fiscal dereliction of duty" today, accusing Bush of being "absent" from the current fiscal crisis. Going on to say that the President has given only two statement on what could turn out to be the most serious economic crisis in over 80 years. ABSENT?? Old Harry has truly slipped a cog! Bush has been trying to get something done to prevent just such a mess as far back as 2001 and he was stymied by the likes of Senator "Dingy" Harry and his DEMOCRATS at every turn. Most of whom were on the take from these two financial sinking ships and had continued to be right up to the bitter end.

"Congress and especially the American People have a right to know, where is President Bush?" Reid asked. "President Bush has sent Congress a unprecedented $700 billion bailout proposal straight from the pockets of every single man, woman and child in America, and yet President Bush has been absent from what may well be the most important debate on economic policy in a generation." Again I ask, ABSENT?? And when has Harry ever been worried about getting into the pockets of anybody? This mess can be traced right straight back to the Democrats as far back as Jimmy Carter. Harry can try to blame Bush until the cows come home, but if anyone with an ounce of brain power looks at this thing to investigate to see where it all started they’ll see that it wasn’t with Bush. Had the measures put forth by the Republicans as early as just 5 years ago been allowed to be put into action, this whole calamity could well have been avoided. But NOOOOOO, too many Democrats had their hands in the till. And you know, a lot of them are working for Obama today. Let’s ask them some questions!

Remember now, this is the same Harry Reid that said the War in Iraq was lost, remember?

DEMOCRATS ARE DETERMINED TO SABOTAGE THE WAR ON TERROR

Ushered in under the guise of the anti-war protests of the sixties was a movement that attempted to portray, as acceptable, the very dangerous mentality of appeasement and the same old pacifist philosophy that had permeated the left for years. This cancer had been slowly growing beneath the surface and gaining support among the hard core leftist segments of our society until finally it was thought the time to force it on unsuspecting, mainstream Americans had arrived. The Vietnam War provided them with the perfect opportunity. The starting point, of course, was in our institutions of so-called higher learning. It was there, through "teaching" methods which were really nothing more than thinly disguised brainwashing sessions performed by leftist professors who had their own agendas, that many converts were created and sent out on a mission, the mission being the cause of peace at all costs. The stated goal of these mind-numbed little robots was to put forward an attempt to make this disgusting school of thought appear more palatable, almost reasonable sounding. Methods used were not questioned, if people could not be convinced peaceably, well then other methods would need to be pursued. After all, theirs was a noble cause. They would argue that what price was too high to pay for the ability to live in peace? However, many folks weren’t buying the version of appeasement that advocated a notion of peace at all costs where no price was too high to pay. Still, the rhetoric of the day became that of support for strict appeasement type policies, no matter how vulnerable we allowed ourselves to become to any sort of future enemy attack, all in the name of peace. Remember, "Better Red than dead?" And for the Democrats there was no limit to how far they were willing to go. It would seem that the only time Democrats didn’t, or still don’t for that matter, have an issue with the word unilateral is when it’s used in conjunction with disarmament, American disarmament.

With the failure of George McGovern to get elected in 1972, it was left for Jimmy Carter four short years later to forge ahead with the implementation of a peace at all costs foreign policy agenda. And from the first day that Jimmy Carter walked through the front door of the White House in 1977 it can be said that the Democrats have been effectively diagnosed with a condition that can be called terminal pacifism, because at that point appeasement became the official Democrat Party policy. And the prognosis for this condition does not bode well for the country, because like it says, it may very well put the country into a terminal condition where our days as a free and secure nation are definitely numbered. Today this policy is still present as most Democrats work feverishly to undermine this country in our War on Terror, just as they did throughout the years of the Cold War with the then Soviet Union. Their willingness to continually put this country into harms way over the years betrays their deep-seated loathing they have regarding their own country. I don’t really fully understand their motivation to time after time place this country into a position that leaves us increasingly vulnerable to any foreign or terrorist attack. The only reason I can think of is that the Democrats seem to have a vested interest in our defeat and continue to choose to deploy a lose at all costs strategy for no other reason that to prove that the Bush policy of preemptive action to protect ourselves should not be permitted to ever again become an available option. Therefore we must lose the battle we are currently waging and we must lose it very badly. These "traitors" with names like Levin, Schumer, Biden, Clinton, Dodd, Pelosi, Reid, Rockefeller, Obama and Durbin are only a select few of all those who have done, and continue to do, their best to put the rest of us at severe risk. They have spent more time and energy undermining the Bush Administration’s attempts at keeping us safe in this fight against terrorism than on anything else, allowing many other very important issues deserving of special attention to simply die on the vine. Had they expended the same amount of energy on those issues, Social Security could have been fixed, gas prices could have been reduced strengthening our economy, the current mortgage crisis may not have ever happened at all and we would have had the terrorists whipped and been out of Iraq a long time ago saving the lives of an untold number of American soldiers. What seems the most ironic to me it that it seems that their only real priority is to do everything in their power to INCREASE the chances of another terrorist attack being successfully carried out against this country. There are times that it seems as if they are on the same side as these terrorists, that there, at least, appears to be some sort of alliance between the two.

National Security has never really been the Democrats strong suit. But with Carter and then Clinton and now quite possibly with Obama, acting in concert with a Congress that will most likely remain under Democrat control, this country will continue to be placed in the untenable position of being unable to defend itself from another terrorist attack. When you stop and think about it, the fact that President Bush has managed to prevent us from being attacked again in the last seven years despite the continuing efforts by the Democrats, the New York Times, the Washington Post and the media in general, it is really quite an accomplishment in itself. I simply do not understand people, Democrats really, who are against this country using every means at its disposal and every weapon in its arsenal to defend itself and protect its population. Democrats are constantly, on the one hand, complaining that Bush has not kept us safe and that we are no safer today than we were on September 10, and then on the other hand doing their best to prevent him from doing just that by taking every opportunity to tie his hands. It’s incredible!!

Lastly, there are many important issues being discussed during this election cycle, from the economy, to healthcare and fuel prices, but if there is another terrorist attack, the odds of which would dramatically increase with an Obama win, it’s highly probable, and very likely, that the economy and healthcare will become the least of our worries. It will become strictly about the issue of survival and self-preservation, and it won’t be pretty by a long shot. Because if we do suffer another attack on the scale of 9/11, which the Democrats want to do absolutely nothing to prevent, there won’t be an economy left to complain about. It will be in a complete shambles! But, can that be the Democrats goal? To totally destroy our economy so it can be rebuilt under their supervision as a purely Socialist system? Is this their method of riding the world of Capitalism? I have to wonder. I think it is a very reasonable question to ask and a very plausible theory to put forward as evidenced by their disgusting behavior over the last seven plus years. Democrats are dangerous to the safety and freedom that we enjoy in this the freest country in the world. And if Obama does win this election, and we are once again attacked as I believe we will be, the blood resulting from that attack will rest solely on the hands of Democrats as well as all those who voted for them.

THE TWISTED PHILOSOPHY OF BARACK OBAMA

Obama has said, on more than one occasion, that President Bush’s political philosophy consists of nothing more than giving tax breaks and encouraging "everyone to buy your own healthcare, your own retirement, your own childcare and your own schools." He has gone on to say, "it’s called the ownership society. In our past there has been another name for it, its called social Darwinism. Every man or woman for himself or herself." Isn’t that what’s called personal responsibility? We all have choices to make throughout our lives, why should I have to pay for the bad choices of others? DUH! But Obama’s world is ruled by a philosophy where there is absolutely no requirement in today’s society for any kind of personal responsibility, because it’s the government that should be responsible for all our necessities of every day life. That it should be up to the government to make sure you have healthcare, a retirement and, if necessary, daycare. There’s just on little drawback to that type of philosophy. That being, the more you allow the government to be in the position of providing and therefore controlling all it is that you need in your life, how long will it be before the day comes that the government will in effect own you. And on that day you will essentially become a slave to that very same government. You will have effectively given the government the power to control your very existence. So I ask you, which philosophy is better for society in the long run?

Obama also loves to proclaim his support for abortion and is not afraid to use it whenever possible as a very divisive political weapon. He takes that support to a level where he could not even bring himself to support a law that would have protected infants born alive after a failed abortion. He feels that such infants should simply be allowed to die, even though they are perfectly viable and would be able to live. He says, "Throughout my career, I’ve been a consistent and strong supporter of reproductive justice, and have consistently had a 100 percent Pro-Choice rating with Planned Parenthood and NARAL Pro-Choice America. I believe in and have supported common sense solutions like increasing access to affordable birth control to help prevent unintended pregnancies." No not exactly, what Obama supports is a little thing infanticide. Now, you can dress it up anyway you want, but that is exactly what it is, and he supports it.

Another thing that reflects Obama’s rather skewed philosophy is a harmless and nice-sounding bill called the "Global Poverty Act" sponsored by none other than, himself. The result of this little jewel, if it were to ever pass, would be the imposition of a global tax on the United States. As you might imagine, the bill has the support of many liberal religious groups, and it has the nasty little side effect of making the levels of U.S. foreign aid spending totally subservient to the dictates of a very dysfunctional and very anti-America United Nations. "Eliminating global poverty remains one of the greatest challenges we face, with billions of people around the world force to live on just a few dollars a day," said Obama. "We can, and must, make it a priority of our foreign policy to commit to eliminating extreme poverty and ensuring every child has food, shelter and clean drinking water." So his answer to this situation is the normal liberal Democrat one, just to throw money at the problem, my money. A question I’d like to ask Obama would be how many of these people is it that live under a Socialist or Communist form of government? Wouldn’t a better way to attack the problem be the supporting of the cause of freedom in the countries where people are suffering? I guess that idea has never occurred to candidate Obama. No, let’s just throw money at.

The few things I’ve mentioned here are meant to cause a debate on some of the key elements that make up the governing philosophy of a man who in all likelihood could become our next President. The form of government that he wishes to inflict upon this country is nothing short of Socialism in its absolute purest form. It’s one where the government knows what’s best for those of us who make up the unwashed masses. As this campaign continues all Obama has to do is to convince just enough of us that his philosophy is the right one for America, and he will win. The consequences of such a victory will at best be simply dangerous, at worst deadly.

CARTER, CLINTON,........OBAMA??

I have a question for anyone who came of age, politically, in the seventy’s and can still remember the fiasco that was the Carter administration or even more recently, the bizarreness of Bill Clinton’s administration, which was rife with corruption and also less than beneficial for America. Remembering these less than stellar Democrat president’s, how is it that we are now considering electing a man as our President who possess pretty much all of the worst qualities of both these two previous Democrats? Possessing the ineptitude of Carter and the same blatant disregard for the law of the land so often flaunted by Clinton, Obama is clearly not the man whom we should entrust with the Presidency of our country.

Under both Carter and Clinton the national security of this country took a tremendous hit, the consequences of which continue to plague us to this day and in all likelihood will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. You can see that the current terrorist situation we are now experiencing got its start under Carter when the U.S. forced the Shah of Iran to leave his country only to be replaced by the Ayatollah Khomeni. Then when Clinton came into office, all he managed to do was to throw gasoline on the fire of terrorism by his continued failure and refusal, to respond to a single terrorist attack against this country with anything even remotely resembling a serious show of force. Add to that an economy was in a shambles under Carter with crazy interest rates, taxes that were too high and a myriad of other issues and it is obvious to see why he was a one-term president. And had it not been for the adult supervision of a Republican Congress throughout most of Clinton’s presidency, he would have cheerfully returned us to those wonderful Carter policies with even more disastrous results. Make no mistake about it, an Obama presidency would again attempt to force those same failed policies down our throats. Democrats are drawn to them like moths to a flame.

There seems to be a rich new tradition among Democrat presidents that started with Carter, of doing whatever is possible to run this country down. A pattern that Obama has happily played an enthusiastic part in.  Hence, it’s been said that Obama is basically running for a second Carter term. Actually though I would argue, what he’s actually doing is running for the fourth Democrat term in 30 years, based on the same failed, screwed up, bigger government is better government policies of higher taxes, more government regulations and the aggressive creation of an ever larger welfare state. All are policies that the previous two Democrat administrations advocated and did their best to bring to fruition. Obama can talk about change all he wants but there’s just nothing new here, it’s all been tried before with less than desirable results, and yet for the Democrats it’s still their plan. Democrats are continually talking down the economy doing there best to convince the rest of us that we’re on the verge of another great depression. It’s the same crap every four years. This latest crisis with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae is just one more example that can be traced straight back to the Democrat’s attempt to encroach further and further into our everyday lives. Now they want to own our homes.

"Change" has to mean something, it can’t just be some cheap slogan or bumper sticker and the version of change being advocated or promised must be looking forward. All versions of Obama’s promise of change are only looking back at the direction from which we have come and he’s only wanting to recreate a place where we have already been. The things that Obama talks about today sound eerily similar to the things we’ve all heard before from other presidents and presidential wanna be’s of the same political persuasion as Obama. If listed, the list of failed Liberal Democrat policies executed or merely attempted would be nearly endless. If you were to take the time to look at the damage caused to this country from just the Clinton administration alone, the list would be quite impressive. Terrorism was out of control plus the continuing problems we face with North Korea and Iran today, can be traced directly back to Clinton and regarding Iran, all the way back to Carter. Then, also under Clinton, our military was cut in half in 8 short years, there was that crazy socialized healthcare thing, oh and how about all the military secrets that found their way to China for some additional campaign cash. And let’s not forget how Clinton passed, what was up to that point, the largest tax increase in our history. I don’t know about anyone else, but I think I see a trend developing here. Obama wants to pick up where Clinton left off and if elected along with a Democrat controlled Congress he would be able to do that and more. Think about it! Imagine a very liberal Supreme Court that could effect us for generations, and the massive tax increase that took place under Clinton would seem small in comparison to Obama’s as would the potentially huge growth of government that he would oversee. He would slash our military leaving us dangerously unable to protect ourselves just as we were during the Carter debacle of presidency.

With the election just a little over 40 days away we need to be taking a serious look at just how dangerous the Obama-Biden ticket is. You have the numbers 1 and 3 most liberal members of the Senate on the same team, what can you expect to happen?

The Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae fiasco

Cartoons By Michael Ramirez
As much as Obama and his merry band of hypocritical Democrats would love to blame this whole fiasco on George Bush and the Republicans, it just ain’t so. And continuing to repeat the same garbage over and over again isn’t going to make it so. For anyone willing to honestly go looking for the root cause of all this, the trail would once again lead them right back to our dear friend, the 42nd President of the United States, none other than Bill "Slick Willie" Clinton. It was during the last two years or so of the "Slickmeister’s" presidency that Democrats’ lead by Clinton, and working with Alan Greenspan a much over rated Fed Chairman, decided it would be a good idea to separate Investment Banking and Commercial Banking. Then came the lowering of the short-term interest rates. After that, pressure was applied to banks, by Democrats, through various threats of intimidation that ranged from banks being accused of practicing discriminatory lending practices to being called outright racists with the idea being to "encourage" them to lend to anybody and everybody that wanted a home. You see, it was, and continues to be, the Democrat philosophy that the mere fact that someone wants to buy a house is qualification enough for them to receive a loan to buy one. They should be able to receive a loan even if there’s absolutely zero chance they could ever pay it back. And, oh by the way, there should only be weak penalties, if any, that are of any real consequence for not doing so. And thus it was we began our trek down the road that brings us to this very spot where we find ourselves today. For a good share of the last ten years or so the Republicans have been trying to bring some semblance of sanity to this whole situation only to be stymied by the Democrats at every turn. The Democrats continually slammed the brakes on any and all change that would have in all likelihood reduced or quite possibly prevented from happening, the mess we see today. And why you ask? Well, if one were to look at the list of politicians that received either sweetheart mortgage deals, or in some cases outright cash donations from lobbyists representing these two corrupt institutions, you would see the names of some very prominent Democrats with Obama at or very near the top. Also on that list are some very prominent folks currently working on the Obama campaign.

I was in my mid-thirties when I bought my first house back in 1986. And I had to go through some pretty thorough checks to satisfy the lender that I would be able to repay the loan. A little over ten years later all anybody had to say is, "Hey, I wanna buy a house", and the banks say, "SURE!" Especially, if you happen to a minority. The Democrats can try to blame this train wreck on the Republicans and I suppose a lot of uninformed people will believe what they read in the media and the garbage that continues to be spewed by the Democrats. The ironic thing in all this is that the folks that got us to this place have become the one in-charge of bailing these two corrupt lenders out. The fox has now been put in total control of the hen house, and one more time it’s the taxpayers that end up taking it in the shorts!

ELECTION? Obama don't NEED no stinkin' election!!

Once again candidate Obama clearly demonstrates that he thinks he’s already President just waiting for an election that will make it "official". He doesn’t need all those know-nothing voters anyway, after all he is BARACK OBAMA. One more time we are witness to the actions of a man who has on more than one occasion he has clearly shown that he is a man who never lets the truth get in the way. Lately just another example of his difficulty with the truth has surfaced. This one involves his again talking out of both sides of his mouth. Because as Obama has been busy campaigning in public for a speedy withdrawal of US troops from Iraq, he has also been busy in private trying to persuade Iraqi leaders to delay an agreement on a draw-down of the American military presence. According to Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Obama made his demand for a delay a major point in his discussions with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad back in July. "He asked why we were not prepared to delay an agreement until after the US elections and the formation of a new administration in Washington," Zebari said in an interview. His willingness to use our brave soldiers as pawns in his march to he White House once a gain speaks volumes about his character, or rather lack of, something that should be an automatic disqualifier for the job of Commander-in-Chief.

This kind of behavior should really surprise no one coming from Obama, it’s his standard operating procedure. He’s hard wired to cheat just as are most Democrats, because it’s all about winning at all costs and never about the country. It's not just that he has tried, in private, to achieve the exact opposite result from the one he has advocated in public. Worse, Obama has in effect tried to conduct his own foreign policy as a would-be President who can speak for the entire country, thereby undermining the actual foreign policy of the United States. One more time he’s out there acting as if he’s already won the election.

For Obama to engage in this kind of politically-motivated backstabbing of the United States government is beneath contempt. But it’s how the blame America first Democrat crowd plays the game. Obama, along with just about every other America-hating Democrat, have a serious conflict of interest here in that most Americans want the United States’ efforts in Iraq to succeed, but not Obama and the Democrat Party. Oh no, they actually need for them to fail and to fail badly! The sad truth of the matter is that Obama has given Iraqis the impression that he doesn't want Iraq to appear anything like a success, let alone a victory, for America. If that were to happen he fears that the perception of US victory there might revive the Bush Doctrine of "pre-emptive" war, you know like removing a threat before it strikes here in America. WHAT A CONCEPT!!

Despite his usual rhetoric on the subject, Obama rejects pre-emption as a legitimate form of self-defense. To have his foreign-policy philosophy be anywhere near credible requires that Iraq be seen as a failure, a disaster, a quagmire, and any of the other of the many descriptions that have been, and still are, continually used by America hating liberals over the past five years. For Obama it’s all about bringing about failure, not success, in Iraq.

Senator McCain’s adviser Randy Scheunemann had this to say:

"At this point, it is not yet clear what official American negotiations Senator Obama tried to undermine with Iraqi leaders, but the possibility of such actions is unprecedented. It should be concerning to all that he reportedly urged that the democratically-elected Iraqi government listen to him rather than the US administration in power. If news reports are accurate, this is an egregious act of political interference by a presidential candidate seeking political advantage overseas. Senator Obama needs to reveal what he said to Iraq's Foreign Minister during their closed door meeting. The charge that he sought to delay the withdrawal of Americans from Iraq raises serious questions about Senator Obama's judgment and it demands an explanation."

REPUBLICANS, Staying home or voting for Obama is not the answer

A word of caution to those Republicans who are considering either voting for Obama or sitting this election out in protest, you need to consider what the ramifications of those actions just might be. Now I will admit that there was a time when I myself was considering doing just that. My reasoning was that, at the time I saw Obama as nothing more than just another Jimmy Carter so I planned on sitting this one out hoping Obama would win and the country would go into the toilet as it did under Carter with the Democrats taking the blame. Then, in 2012 we would hopefully have a Republican nominee who would coming riding to our rescue like Ronald Reagan in 1980 to save us from ourselves and put things back together again. Anyway, that was my reasoning. But then I got to thinking about all the damage that could be done by a President Obama working in tandem with a more than willing and eager Democrat controlled Congress I got cold feet and started to reconsider my plan. Because it was at that point that I began to see that scenario as nothing more than a very dangerous and potentially deadly game of chicken. So it was then that I decided I would vote for McCain and support him where I could and oppose him where I must. I still see Obama as just a newer version of Carter, only I just don't want to risk having to go through another episode like waiting to be rescued.  Ya know, I could be wrong and the country may go down the tubes regardless. After all we’re still going to have a Democrat controlled Congress, and if McCain is elected and country does in fact go down the tubes will the people blame McCain or or the Democrats in Congress and still elect a Democrat in 2012? Would we only be delaying the inevitable? Well, I guess if I could look into my crystal ball and see how things are going to play out in the future maybe I would know exactly what it is I should do. But since I can’t I have to make the decision that is going to allow me to sleep at night, and not voting or voting for Obama isn’t going to allow me to do that. All I know for sure is that Obama scares me, he scares me enough so that I am willing to take the chance on McCain and hope. Hope he can get the right justices on the Supreme court, hope he can prevent the Democrats from doing anymore damage to the country, hope he can defeat the terrorists despite the undoubtedly numerous Democrat efforts that will me made to undermine his efforts and hope he is courageous enough to take the necessary actions and make the necessary decisions regarding the economy. There will be difficult decisions that will need to be made in the coming years regarding health care costs, fuel costs and especially Medicare costs and, like all medicine, the possible changes that will be required will not go down too easy. But if we do not in fact put "country first" then we’re all going down together. I think John McCain has the courage to make those decisions because he puts the "country first." The big question is, do the rest of us, or do we put ourselves first as Obama does? And if the McCain Presidency does succeed we, as Republicans, will quite possibly have the opportunity, I would hope, to elect as President a remarkable person in Sarah Palin in 2016.

So the bottom line here is I guess I’m just not willing to gamble with the future of America by not voting for McCain, the stakes are simply too high. If Obama does win this thing it won’t be because I took the easy way out and just stayed home in November.

FROM "COMMUNITY ORGANIZER" TO PRESIDENT?...TIMEOUT!!

Where else but in this great country could someone actually claim that a couple of years spent as a "community organizer" when he was much younger is a major qualification for his being elected President today? What do most of the people in this country think of when they hear "community organizer"? By definition "community organizing" is a process by which people are brought together to act in common self-interest. But in Obama’s case a "community organizer" was nothing more than a stint as a rabble-rouser for the tax-subsidized, highly partisan non-profit organization known as ACORN. And this he claims as the executive experience that has helped to prepare him for the job of President of the United States. And his claim of "community organizer" has put Obama in amongst some pretty unique, and controversial, company; Al Sharpton, Jessie Jackson, Cesar Chavez and Ralph Nader just to name a few. All being blatant left wing nut jobs.

For those of you who may not know very much about this organization, ACORN, it is nothing more than a very left-wing organization that receives roughly 40 percent of its revenue from you the American taxpayer. It has used that money, and continues to use that money, to actively promote the welfare state in this country, to undermine capitalism and self-reliance, to promote and to perpetuate illegal immigration and to also aggressively encourage voter fraud in this country. Sounds like a great organization for someone who wants to president to have worked for, don’t you think? Imagine for just a moment if Sarah Palin had worked for such a group. Can you possibly imagine the uproar that we would be seeing and hearing from the media? And of course this is one of the many groups that have very warmly endorsed Obama for President. What do you think, big surprise? One thing that is never brought up during a discussion of his days as a "community organizer" is, was the community he served better off because of his involvement. How many people did he help or how did he, perhaps, turn the community around? He never quantifies his involvement. And with all the talk coming from the media about how being a "community organizer" provides such an amazing qualification for President, you would think that someone would have been dispatched to Chicago to assemble a list of all his significant accomplishments while Obama was performing in that capacity. Oh silly me, that’s right they’re all busy up there in Alaska trying to dig up dirt on GOVERNOR Palin.

The only point I am trying to make here is that for anyone to think that once being a "community organizer" can in fact form a basis for running for president is just downright ludicrous. I find it quite amazing that Obama and his supporters can actually make that claim with a straight face. And it is actually even more amazing, and quite alarming actually, how many rational thinking Americans seem to agree with the whole silly premise! When you combine this claim along with Obama’s substantive weak performance in the Illinois State Legislature, doing nothing more than voting present whenever the opportunity presented itself, and his performance in the Senate thus far, where he has actually spent very little time since deciding to run for President, what is there about this man that qualifies him to go anywhere near the White House, in any capacity? And yet, AND YET, he and his campaign have the gall to claim that he has more experience than GOVERNOR Sarah Palin. And GOVERNOR Palin isn’t even his main rival.

THE SARAH PALIN EFFECT

To say that Governor Sarah Palin has the Democrats, along with their media elite friends, in a total state of disarray would be, I think, somewhat of an obvious understatement. They have come completely unhinged. It seems, to me at least, that the once fabled Obama juggernaut that was supposed to march unimpeded all the way to the front steps of the White House no longer seems to look quite so invincible. We have gone from where Democrats once considered the election as nothing more than a mere formality, to where it has become increasingly obvious that there is now much more uncertainty regarding the viability of this man who just a few months ago was presumed to be the next President. I think the Obama train has somewhat come off the tracks. Reflected by the fact that the candidate has lost some of his smoothness, or slickness, going from, at one point, proclaiming himself to be a different kind of politician to where he is today in setting loose his attack dogs to smear Governor Palin any way possible. And, in so doing has shown himself to be just another run of the mill, everyday mudslinging, low life Democrat.

Ask yourself what it says about a political campaign when the number one guy on one ticket is spending all his time talking down the number two guy, or gal in this case, on the opposing ticket. What the heck is wrong with that picture? And what does it say about the Democrats in general when they send an army of muckrakers to Alaska to dig up dirt to be used against your opponent. You certainly cannot have much confidence in yourself or in your positions if you feel that the only way you can win is to drag your competition down through the mud to your level. If I didn’t know better I’d say that we could be witnessing an Obama meltdown. And I’d be willing to bet that he’s now having some serious second thoughts regarding his selection of Joe, foot in his mouth, Biden as his running mate. I heard a very interesting theory the other day, one I’m calling the Obama Plan B. Tell me if you think it sounds possible, and it goes something like this. At some point in the not to distant future between now and the election, there will arise some reason for Joe Biden to take himself off the Democrat ticket which then allow Obama to pick Hillary as his new Vice Presidential nominee. Thinking that this will pacify the Hillary supporters and suitably neutralize the Palen effect providing Obama once again with a clear, unimpeded path to the White House. I suppose most of the Hillary voters could be bought with such a move because after all, how many of these people actually put country first, not many I would venture to guess.

The effort to smear Governor Palin was in full view Thursday night when she was "interviewed" on ABC by old, tired, washed up and worn out Charlie Gibson. He did his best to trip her up but I thought she did very well and even shot him down a few times. If that interview succeeded in doing anything, at least for me personally, it was to make me almost salivate over the prospects of the Vice Presidential Debate. I’m telling you if Joe was watching that interview he’s got to be shaking in his Gucci’s, because when that debate happens she’s going to make him look like even more of a moron than he actually is. If that’s possible.
