If I have to hear from one more scumbag Democrat, or another so-called journalist about what a sterling example Colin Powell is of what it means to be a Republican, I swear I’m going to just go off. I have never been a big Powell fan, but ever since he decided to throw his support behind Barry I have gotten to the point to where now I care very little, if at all, about what he may have to say about anything. With his supporting of Barry for essentially no other reason than race, it has become painfully obvious that Powell has become much less interested in advancing the agenda of the Republican Party as he is now very much more interested in advancing the agenda of Colin Powell. If I can be perfectly frank here, I have always thought that the good General was in somewhat over his head in any position he has ever held. And why it is exactly, that he cannot now just simply fade away is proof positive of the huge ego that this man has.
Meaning no disrespect to the General, but the time has now come for Colin Powell to activate his GPS, locate that hole from which he crawled out and, while going quietly into the night, crawl right back into it. Because no matter how hard the mainstream media may try to convince us otherwise, this man is nothing more than an attention seeking, publicity hound who is so addicted to the limelight and to the adulation he continues to receive from a leftist media, and from Democrats, that he doesn't see that the time has come for him to just go away. If he is truly a Republican then he must be made to realize that what he now doing can only be detrimental to the Party, but let’s be honest here, we all know that he is even less of a Republican than is John McCain. This guy has been nothing more than a complete fraud going all the way back to his days as National Security Advisor during the Reagan Administration. He was less than adequate as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and a joke of a Secretary of State. He has been someone who has done nothing more than to backstab his bosses, both while serving them as well as after having served. He did so at any and every opportunity if he thought by doing so he would be able to elevate his so-called stature with the media. While at State, he had his trusty sidekick, walrus looking "Dick" Armitage, to run interference for him and as someone who could be counted on to assist Powell in his back stabbing of his boss, THE PRESIDENT. Anyone who has been watching this guy over the years would have to admit that he’s always been pretty much of an "all show and no go" kind of a guy. He has always been someone I saw as having zero substance and on the receiving end of far more praise than he was entitled to or was even deserving of. That this man can, with such ease, back stab those who provided him with the many opportunities that allowed him to become much more than he could have ever become on his own, reveals a shallowness as well as a severe lack of any character. And today he seems to take a great deal of pleasure in slamming President Bush, Vice-President Chaney as well as just about any other actual conservative while portraying himself as a shining example of all that the Republican Party can and should be. All his theatrics do nothing more than to expose to all the complete and utter shallowness of this washed up, whiny has-been who is now out there acting like nothing more than a spoiled brat. Showing his gratitude to those who have assisted him in the advancement of his career, he goes about his business cheerfully allowing himself to be used by our leftist media. He seems very comfortable with that as long as he is on the receiving end of his own good press. His continuing to essentially slander those for whom he has worked continues to demonstrate that he has no more class than that of the man that he supported for president and continues to support after having won the election. That such a man as Powell who has accomplished so much, albeit with much assistance from many others, going from Chairman of the Joint Chiefs to Secretary of State, could then deteriorate into something that more closely resembles nothing more than a common political hack, is really kind of sad. He has been reduced to being nothing more than a puppet with the media pulling his strings whenever the occasion arises to bash Bush, Chaney, Limbaugh or the Republican Party in general.
And now he’s out there cheerfully making a fool of himself assisting the mainstream media in the accomplishing their goals of undermining the Republican Party. He happily goes about the business of telling them whatever it is they want to hear whether it’s true or not. He’s out there slamming the Republicans, making bizarre and baseless claims about how the Party, his party, has made some perceived drastic lurch to the hard right that he claims will have suicidal consequences. In an interview on CNN after the election, he declared that the Republican Party attempted to polarize the country. He also stated that Republicans had to try to reach out to more minorities, including African Americans, who are conservative, but have been alienated by the polarizing nature of many conservative figures. Powell declared that the Republican Party was in "deep trouble" and needed to move closer to the center to survive. Now, after hearing this ridiculous statement you have to wonder if he really believes that or is it just another instance of where he opens his mouth and crap just falls out. I mean with our last presidential candidate, how much more in the center could the Party have been, and still he chose to openly support and to also vote for the most radically left leaning candidate in our history. As has been said by many others and much more articulately than I, in this last election one would have thought that by Powell’s standards, we had the perfect candidate, and yet he bailed on the Party, his Party, to vote for a blatant and obvious Socialist. He has become, or quite possibly always has been, much more interested in being the center of attention and will therefore say or do anything if the result will be to have nice things said about him in the media. He has a monumental ego very similar to that of the man he supports as president. So starved for attention is this guy that he will say absolutely anything that he deems necessary to draw the requisite amount of attention to himself. And if it gets his face on some Sunday news show, or quoted in The New York Times or gains him the opportunity to spew his garbage to the American people, all the better. Powell is always on call and standing at the ready to be called upon at any time and whenever needed to bash the Republicans. And yet, this is the man who apparently could so easily cast aside those principles we all thought he possessed in his effort to support a man who we all would have thought would have been his complete philosophical opposite. And why exactly is that? Race, plane and simple! He put the electing of an incompetent boob as president over the good of the country for no other reason than because that incompetent boob happened to be black. That action alone demonstrates the height of his hypocrisy and shows the lengths to which he will go to satisfy his sick need to be constantly praised by the leftist media conglomeration that we now have in this country. And that is something I will never forgive him for and it is what gives this man zero credibility regarding any topic he may wish to discuss. Despite Barry’s positions on every thing from abortion to slashing defense spending to massive expansion of government, Powell chose to support the black guy for no other reason than the very fact that he was black. That was enough for Powell to betray the country that he supposedly claims to love. And it would now seem that Powell finds himself standing in the unique company of men the likes of Castro and Chavez, who are also ardent Barry supporters. In company such as that, how is it possible for him call himself a Republican? The epitome of hypocrisy is the fact that Powell has the gall to call himself a Republican when it is so obvious, and in so many ways, that he is not.
And finally, when was the last time that Powell made an appearance anywhere in the media that he was asked any serious questions such as, "General Powell, do you support expanding entitlement programs to include national health care? And if you do, General Powell, how would you pay for it?" "What is the highest tax rate you would accept, General Powell?" "General Powell, should we give amnesty to illegal aliens?" "General Powell, how would you expand the Republican Party's base without diminishing its principles?" "What are your views on affirmative action, General Powell?" "What are your views on the death penalty?" "How about school choice?" "General Powell, do you favor Barry’s returning our government to a pre 9/11 mentality?" "General Powell, do you favor Barry’s plan to slash defense spending?" He just never gets asked these kinds of questions. Why? Because that’s not the reason they bring him on their television shows or interview him for the newspaper columns. He is used for no other reason than to ridicule the Party he supposedly belongs to. However, he is not now, and I seriously doubt that he really ever has been, a Republican.
