It was in recent Gallup Poll 40 percent of those taking part described their views as being conservative, 35 percent moderate and 21 percent as being liberal. It was noted that there has been a slight increase in conservatism since 2008 which returns it to a level last seen in 2004. The percentage of those identifying themselves as liberal is in line with findings so far in the 2000s, and up from the 1990s. The survey noted that when speaking of Republicans, 73 percent call themselves conservatives. Among those calling themselves Democrats the major divisions came down to 40 percent identifying themselves as moderates and 38 percent as liberals. Also among the Democrats, 22 percent identified themselves as being conservative compared to 3 percent of the Republicans who identified themselves as liberal.
So, here we have what appears to be some pretty solid evidence that we haven’t quite moved as far left as Barry and the Democrats would have us believe. America it seems, is still more of a center right country. But, we are very much in danger of allowing that 21 percent of us who are liberal the opportunity to convince just enough of those who call themselves moderates into going along with them so that together they can successfully determine the direction in which the country as a whole will be moved. Barry may think he has earned himself some sort of mandate with his November victory, but in all reality, that’s just not quite the case. Granted, 52 percent of the voting public did vote for Barry but 48 percent didn't. A gullible public fell prey to the empty rhetoric delivered quite eloquently by a man who was, and still is, nothing more than a political mercenary. Votes for Barry, other than simply because of race, were based on a sorely misguided and, somewhat naïve, fantasy of The Messiah being some new kind of politician. So many bought into his utopian rhetoric of "hope and change." However, what we are now rapidly finding out is that Barry’s definition of "hope and change" is more than just a tad bit skewed. We currently find ourselves in a very precarious situation for the very simple reason that this pathological liar, who is now our president, is totally incapable of telling the truth. No matter how hard the media continues its attempt to portray Barry as God-like, he is not. And what we have effectively allowed to happen here, is for Barry to effectively place a noose around our collective neck and we now seem to be simply waiting as he readies to kick the chair out.
I’ve heard it now from many different corners, even from some of our stellar conservative elite’s, that the era of Reaganism, i.e., Conservatism, is over. Why, because they say so? What is that based on exactly, an election that was essentially bought and paid for through Barry's highly questionable donations or one in which a majority of us voted for The Messiah, under, what now have essentially been exposed as, nothing more than false pretenses? I’m really getting tired of those, again many of whom are on our side, who proclaim that conservatism is waning and that either the Republican Party must now change with the times or face the ugly alternative of simply ceasing to exist. In one sense I agree, it needs to become more Conservative, not less! Now, as outlined above and also seen other recent polling data, we are not yet that center left country, but instead, a country that is increasingly conservative. It may not be much of an increase, but there is certainly no decrease of conservatism being represented. Where the problem seems to come into play, is the fact that the American people, at least a sufficient number of them, simply no longer see the Republican Party as their conservative outlet. Therefore, while we may be becoming a country with fewer self-described Republicans, we are not becoming a less conservative country as a whole. The crux of the issue is what appears to be that many of our politicians who call themselves Republicans, are more than just a little unwilling to take the necessary stand by coming down strongly on the side of conservative principles. Too many of those serving under the banner of the Republican Party have attempted to do nothing more than redefine Republicanism. This new definition is one which basically boils down to one that defines the Party as being nothing more than, quite simply, a less extreme version of the same brand of liberalism pushed by the Democrats, disguised with such innocuous sounding names as "Compassionate Conservatism." So in effect, the end result is that what we have today are two political parties with very few degrees of separation regarding a very flawed political/social philosophy. Exhibit One in the evidence presented in this case would be the pathetic excuse we had for a "conservative" as our party’s last presidential candidate. Let’s face it, we could not have done ourselves anymore harm had we purposefully set out to lose the election. It was because our candidate was so lackluster and possessed so very few clear differences when compared to his opponent, there was no motivation among conservatives to rally to the Republican candidate. In fact it can be argued that on the topic of taxes, the liberal candidate sounded more conservative than the supposed conservative candidate, granted, as we’re finding out now it was all nothing more than a pack of lies, but it worked long enough to get Barry "Almighty" elected. You would think that experienced politicians who desire to win elections would understand the basic need of voters to see the clear, even stark, differences that showcase specific policy positions between the candidates. If both candidates appear similar, where’s the motivation supposed to come from to vote for one over the other? Republican candidates who are apprehensive about taking a conservative stand because they haven’t the nerve to stand up to the media's critique are doing us, and themselves, no favors when they try to muddle their positions just to get favorable press.
More wishy-washy, limp-wristed RINOs are not what is needed in this time of so much uncertainty and so much run away Barry sponsored government expansion. There is a growing fear among many concerning our government and the growing control it is assuming over so many aspects of our economy through which it also gains more control over more and more of the individual and personal freedoms of the American people. What we are presently in need of are staunch supporters of the Constitution, as written, and we need to elect those who are willing to stand behind and strongly support traditional family values and free market capitalism, not an "It takes a Village" mentality and Socialism. However, the sad fact of the matter is that many of our Republican leaders have increasingly lost their way, and hence the support of an increasing number of voters. Filled with good intentions when running for office, they very rapidly exhibit significant periods of memory loss once they get to Washington in their eagerness to remain there at all costs, and at the expense of the faith put in them by their constituents. These selfish, self-centered fraudulent conservatives are doing no one any favors by their continuing deception, all they are accomplishing is the creating of an impression that there truly is little difference between Republicans and Democrats. Their misguided behavior does nothing but to make what should be a chasm separating these two political philosophies appear much more like a ditch that is really no big deal, in the big scheme of things.
To say that I am more than just a little disappointed in the performance thus far of our Party Chairman Michael Steele would be somewhat of an understatement. Instead of doing what he should be doing, actively searching out those candidates who are unashamedly conservative, instead he chooses to support faux conservatives like RINO Charlie Crist. Supporting this type of candidate does nothing to advance the cause of conservatism or the Party, nor does it provide any hope of ever achieving a substantial majority in one or both Houses of Congress. It does nothing but to virtually guarantee the Party the maintaining of a minority status for not only the rest of my life but that of my daughter as well. That, my friends, is not why I was supporting and hoping for Mr. Steele to win his current position. I’m so sick and tired of hearing about how if we are to grow the Party, we need to abandon our principles to become more inclusive. WHY? My Party is open to all those who share in my principles, the principles on which this country was formed. I’m simply not willing to alter my beliefs just to convince some whiny malcontents to join the team. If they cannot see which team it is that encourages freedom, both economic and personal, and they care so little about what kind of country they will be leaving behind for their kids, then they can go join the damn Democrats. And all they will succeed in by doing so will be to do nothing more than to permanently enslave their kids and their kids kids to Barry’s idea of government. Yep, they can join the likes of the liberals and be freakin miserable for the rest of their lives because I am not about to compromise, compromise is something that is to be left to those who wish to join in my fight. Because there is so much at stake, there is no room for anyone who is not committed to see this fight through to its successful conclusion. Only Conservatives need apply, I want no one onboard my team who might have a tendency to go squishy, we have enough members like that on the team already. If you don’t care about the future and are simply living just for the now, go join the other team because you’re no good to me. And that goes for Chairman Steele as well!
As has been written about in other sources, there are effectively four pillars to American Conservatism, a strong military, small government, tax reduction and competent management. It would appear that today we have a president expending a great deal of time and energy in leading an assault to completely undermine those principles, the same ones that have made America the power in the World that it is today. It is a conflict that seems to be impeded by way to few of our conservative politicians. It’s an issue that’s not real complicated, either you’re part of the problem or you’re part of the solution. Conservatives in name only are definitely part of the problem, if not THE problem. I hate these career politicians who could give a squat less as to why they were sent to the seat of government in the first place. Here we are with a Barry created fiasco bringing the greatest country on the planet, quite literally, down all around us. And very few, well too few to seem to matter, are willing to stand up to him and just say no, this is crazy and it’s got to stop. At the present time there is only one, count them, ONE, man in the Senate who has a 100% rating from the American Conservative Union, Senator Jim DeMint. And we have 31 members in the House who have achieved the same grade. So what we have are 32 men and women out of 535 who can safely be counted upon as Conservatives, that leaves 503 others possessing of varying degrees of liberalism, hence look at the mess we’re in. And what is our stellar Party Chairman doing, courting guys like Crist. Crist and guys like him are not the future of the Party, unless of course we never want to regain any semblance of political power. We cannot continue to allow to happen, as happened in this last election, to allow the media to pick our candidates for us. McCain was the media's choice for us and not one any self-respecting conservative would have chosen. We cannot permit ourselves to be manipulated into continuing to elect candidates with a questionable conservative pedigree, for that will surely bring about the sounding of the death knell for the Republican Party, the Party of Lincoln.
What we need to do is to increase and intensify our focus on proven conservative principles and work together to present viable solutions and create workable alternatives to the out of control madness that is being shoved down the throat of the American people by a blatant Socialist. We must all work as a well oiled machine, a cohesive unit if we are going to have any hope of being able to beat back this obvious Democrat abuse of power, which is nothing but an overt attempt at a power grab of monumental proportions. Presently, there seems to be a bit of a disconnect between we conservatives out here in the trenches and our supposed leaders back in Washington. We’re transmitting but they’re not receiving, so that it would appear then "that what we have here is a failure to communicate." The Republicans in Congress have a very clear choice to make here, either they choose to listen to us, or, who will choose not to vote for them. Because the only hope we have of bringing this attempted leftist coup d’ etat to a halt will be the presenting of a unified Conservative front to combat it. And if you are not an enthusiastic, card-carrying conservative you are not welcome on the team. We cannot afford any weak links in our chain. We are now in a war, a war for the self-preservation of our Republic. We must all be ready to answer the call. We have identified our enemies, those who must be defeated at all costs, and they are Barry and his pathetic disciples. They must not be permitted to perpetrate any actions which may further result in diminishing the freedoms enjoyed by the American people. Weak kneed Republicans are not needed or wanted. What we need are those who exude confidence and are willing to confront those who are so desparate to shove this country so drastically to the left, by the passionately extolling of all the benefits and ideals of Conservatism.
